I am a 14-year-old skier from Derby who competes in Moguls, Slopestyle and Half Pipe. I have been skiing since I was six years old and competing since I was nine. I was really pleased to be one of two males to be selected to the Home Nations’ Academy for two disciplines, Park and Pipe and Moguls
My proudest moments so far have been becoming British Men’s Mogul Champion and winning my first international silver medal, at the Lowlands Cup. “The Lowlands Cup” is an international event held in Austria, and even though I was eligible to compete in my age group, my coach wanted me to compete as a pro adult.
At present I am really working hard to build on this success in moguls and looking to achieve the GB standard to compete in the Europa Cup. I aspire to be selected to the GB Team for the World Junior Games in 2018.
My time is now divided between disciplines; although I am concentrating more and more on moguls. Even so, I did win a silver medal at the Scottish Indoors 2015-16, and finished ninth man overall in the Halfpipe at the British Championships in Laax and was ranked fifth male overall in the British Snow Tour last season.
Go James!
